Form Timer is a google form Add-on .It adds a countdown timer to the google form and controls the timeout behavior.

• Install the add on from here.

• Enable your form for Form Timer.

• Test and Go Live by distributing the form link to your candidates.

For Form Timer to work properly your google form needs to be public.You should test the form from an incognito browser window without any logic and ensure that you are able to access the form.

Make sure following options are unchecked under General tab of form settings inside google form.Go there by clicking the cog wheel of your google form.

• Uncheck all check boxes under "Requires sign-in:" .This is present on "General" tab of the form settings window of your google form.

• Uncheck the check box  "Show link to submit another response" .This is present on "Presentation" tab of the form settings window of your google form.

• Uncheck all check boxes under "Respondents can:" .This is present on "Presentation" tab of the form settings window of your google form.

Form Timer automatically tries to change these settings on your form when the form is enabled for form timer.However Form Timer gets error in some of the cases.Another situation when this won't work is if these options were enabled after your google form was enabled for "Form Timer".

Important!!

If any feature of the google form requires users to sign in, it may not work properly.For  example if you have a question that requires users to upload a file ,google mandatorily asks users to sign in.Because of technical limitations file upload is not supported across major browsers when form is embedded in Form Timer .At the time of this writing this is working in Firefox .Please test your forms properly before sharing with every one.

There are couple of scenarios when the add-on menu options do not appear.Try the following  and it should resolve for you.

1.Refresh the page and check if the menu options start to appear

2.Log out of all your gmail/google accounts in the same browser and log-in to only the account where you have installed the add-on .This should solve the problem.

You can do two types of settings for your form Inside Form Timer.

• Set up test behavior

Yes . Once you go to the form detail page by clicking on a particular form inside gclocked.com  you can see a green button on the top of the page .Clicking on that will open your google class room with the test link where you can share it  .

• This is an innovative way to sign in and take the test .

• This is useful when you do not want to use your google account.

• In this method a unique link is sent to any email address provided by you .

• If you click on the special link in the same browser tab you are automatically logged in.

• If you open the link in a different device you will be asked to enter the email id again.

After logging into Form Timer click on "Your logos" from profile.

• Upload logos here to use them across multiple forms.

• You can have up to 5 logos of Max 30 kb each.

• Max logo dimension can be of 500x200 pixels.

• Once you upload the logos they will appear in your google form set up page inside Form Timer.

This may happen for couple of  reasons.

• You just Created a new form and forgot to type a title.

  • In this case type a title in the top center of the google form

• You may have copied the form from another place and google some times doesn't recognize the title

  • In this case Manually type the form title again in the top center of  google form  and "Reenable" the form

  • Or make a copy of the form by clicking three dots in top right corner and clicking "make a copy" and try enabling the new copied form.

However there is a work around you can try and see if it works for you.

• Enable the main form in Form Timer.

• Create form/forms with questions that require File Upload .Do not enable them for Form Timer.

• Create a regular question and provide the link to the other form/forms created above in the description so that test takers can visit the link from another tab and upload the file.

• You may ask test takers to answer a yes/no question that will indicate if they have uploaded the file.

We can not know the scores for grid type of questions. This is because google doesn't provide us with the scores if a question is of grid type .There are two grid type questions checkbox grid and choice grid.This is the reason our score doesn't include them.If you form has the above grid type question then scores won't match.Please write to us if your form does not have grid type questions and scores do not match.

This is technically not feasible at the moment. However you can try this if it works for you .Create a separate form for each question . And then create a single form, give the links to other forms for each question. I know this may not be ideal but just in case it works for you.

Form Start and  End Time allow you to control the form visibility to test takers.

• The only condition is Form End Time can not be before Form Start Time.

• Both Date fields are optional.

• If both are absent Form is Open.

• Candidates can not take the test before Form start time or after Form End Time if they are present.

• How do I test the form with a start time in future ?

Ans: Test the form with every other configuration and once you are satisfied you can put the timer.

        You can also put the timer in the past to test and then change the timer to future before distributing the links.

See all your forms from profile ->"Your forms" 

Clicking on  particular form will take you to the form detail page.

This page shows the live results and allows you to change form configurations.

Live results can be downloaded in CSV or XLS format.

If the candidate has already attempted and you want the candidate to attempt again ,you can delete the candidate data from the live result .

After deleting the candidate data ,candidate can attempt the test again.

T be able to send a personalized automated email you can install Form Notify add-on. Using this add-on you can  send highly personalised Email Notifications or integrate with other services.

Yes , you can generate a participation certificate and also provide the quiz score and other dynamic values from the test along with Answers if required . You can install Form Notify add-on and follow the documentation  to achieve the same.

Please note that this is a technical limitation from google and we have no way of capturing partial results if the candidate does not submit the form.

We do not have control over google form and this is not possible at the moment.As a workaround you can allow the candidates to take the test after the time is over and then see how much time they took to complete the test.This is controlled via form settings "Continue After Timeout".

When you purchase a plan, your account will be automatically debited every Month /Year depending on whether you are subscribing to a Monthly or annual plan. However if for any reason you want to stop payment or cancel the subscription or change your card details  you can do so  . This can be done via the   "Manage subscription"  button in the usage page. You can see this from Profile (Top right corner after you log into Form Timer) ->"Your usage" . You can also directly go there by visiting https://gclocked.com/home/usage

Payments are processed through stripe.

Your card details do not pass through our server.

1. Login to gclocked.com  and delete all the forms.

2. Uninstall the Add-on from Google Workspace Marketplace 

3. Drop us an Email and we will delete your account. (As of now this is manual .We will provide an automated way for this in future)
